Open Source Contribution workshop

Open Source Contribution Workshop

The Open Source Contribution Workshop by CommunityX is a practical learning session designed to help aspiring developers understand how to contribute to real-world open-source projects.

Featuring Harsh Singh (Ex-Amazon), a Google Summer of Code (GSoC) contributor in 2021 and 2023, the workshop will focus on practical GitHub workflows and the essential skills required to collaborate on open-source projects.

Participants will gain insights into:

• Navigating GitHub repositories and understanding project structures.
• Working with Git and GitHub for version control.
• Managing branches, commits, and pull requests.
• Identifying issues and contributing to existing projects.
• Understanding collaborative software development workflows.

The session aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical development by introducing participants to real-world open-source contribution practices.

Whether you're a beginner exploring open source or a developer looking to strengthen your practical skills, this workshop will help you build confidence, improve collaboration skills, and take your first steps toward meaningful open-source contributions.
